A man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train shortly after 6 p.m. today at Ruggles Station, transportation officials said. Steve Kulm, an Amtrak spokesman, said northeast regional train no. 174 was traveling from Richmond, Va., to Boston with 85 passengers when it hit the victim. No passengers or crew members reported injuries, he said.
