This museum is housed in a restored 1914 Canadian Northern Railway station that contains thousands of artifacts relating to the Canadian Pacific, Grand Trunk, Canadian National, and other railways. The national historic site displays a 1912 steam locomotive, a CP diesel, a dental car, and passenger cars.

The museum's rail collection contains 1,000 artifacts that range from photos to locomotives and dates back to the early days of Canadian railway history. Locomotive Hall showcases four locomotives, but other equipment is displayed throughout the museum and outdoors in Technology Park. The museum also operates a demonstration train ride. Other exhibits focus on Canadian inventions, communications, and space.

Located in the former Michigan Central locomotive shops, the Elgin County Railway Museum helps preserve and display the railway heritage of St. Thomas and the surrounding area. Equipment restoration is ongoing at the museum, and it displays a variety of equipment including a CNR Hudson, a Grand Trunk Western caboose, a Pullman sleeper, and an electric-powered car that transported children to school in the 1920s.

The museum offers a look at railroading on the island in the early 1900s. It features re-created buildings representing the original wooden station house, platform, freight shed and master's office. The station building contains two rooms of displays and artifacts. A miniature train operates around the museum, and a variety of special events take place on the outdoor stage, which was built from the base of a flatcar.

The largest collection of railway equipment in the country. Locomotives, rolling stock, and streetcars from many parts of the country tell of the evolution of both industries from a uniquely Canadian perspective. The museum's collection boasts 160 railway vehicles, including locomotives, streetcars, and rolling stock. A number of special events and exhibits scheduled through out the year are geared toward modelers, transit enthusiasts, and railfans. The museum offers several train ride options as well.

206   Link   Saskatchewan Railway Museum
This seven-acre museum contains more than 10 buildings, including a station, express shed, interlocking tower, and tool sheds, from the Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, Canadian Northern, and Grand Trunk Railways. On display are a variety of freight cars, passenger coaches, streetcars, cabooses, and a CPR S-3 diesel locomotive. The museum also offers guided tours and short motor car rides.

207   Link   Arkansas Railroad Museum
Features engine 819, the last of the 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotives to be built at Pine Bluff. The museum boasts a 1909 Baldwin built 336, which alongside the 819 is on the national register of historic places. Also home to a number of rare diesel locomotives, a complete steam, wrecker train, cabooses, a snow plow and other cars of an era gone by.
